G with Calvin

Georgianna loves to walk Calvin on his leash. I just wish Calvin liked it as much as G does.

Thumbs Up!

Kevin and Kebra came in town for the Arkansas football game. I wish the score would have been better; but it was a good day of visiting with our friends.

After an exciting day of playing at the park; Baker and Georgianna put on their pjs to get ready for bedtime. Here is Baker giving G her early birthday present.

Waiting....

Here is Georgianna waiting in the garage for her daddy to take her to school. David took Ellie to school first and then came back to take Georgianna. G sat patiently in the garage waiting for her turn with her daddy.

First Day of Preschool

Georgianna started back to preschool today in the "green" room. Notice that she is wearing a green dress for the occasion. She is in a class with 12 children; 3 were in her class last year. David worked from home so he was able to take her to school and pick her up with me. We even went out to lunch for a date!

First Football Tailgate

Go Hogs Go!
The Razorbacks had their first home game of the season this weekend and we hosted a tailgate party in the Gardens in our usual spot. Ellie and Georgianna came to tailgate but they did not attend the game. The kids had a "ball" playing football and listening to the live band.
David and I were so glad that the Farrah family and Davis family joined us, but we missed the Shelhamers and the Hartfields. My cousin Elizabeth and her husband Bobby did stop by to see us and stay for a visit which was a treat.

Cousins

During August, we were fortunate enough to have some of our cousins come visit us in Arkansas. My brother and his family from Texas came first for a quick trip and then Carrie and her two boys came for a long weekend. Ellie and Georgianna had a great time visiting and playing with all the boy cousins.

Ellie, Georgianna, and Porter spent hours playing outside. The weather was perfect (not a typical Arkansas August).

Jumping

My camera has video capabilities -- not the best video, but it works!

Here are Georiganna and Porter jumping on the trampoline.

Ellie is now a 3rd Grader

School started today
Ellie came home from her first day of school and said that her day was "awesome." She has a male teacher for this school year. Many of her classmates from last year are in her class again and she was very excited about seeing her friends.

3 Going On 15

How G spent her Saturday ...After I read a book to Georgianna today she crawled into my lap and told me that she loves me "more than the dirt, trees, leaves, flowers, walls and houses." It was the sweetest moment and I will treasure it. But... this is the same child who two days ago was told to go clean up her princess toys in her room. Her response to me after I asked her to clean up was "That is your JOB Mommy." She was very serious. David had to leave the room since he was laughing so hard, so I gave her the look, and she took off up the stairs and immediately cleaned her room. I had to bite my lip to keep from laughing.

Joyous Passing

Hydrangeas from my yard
This morning my dear Great Uncle Everett passed away to join his sister (my Grandmother), who also passed away less than a year ago. I have lost both of my Grandmothers and two Great Uncles in a few short months. Even though these loved ones will be missed, I am fortunate to have been left with many happy memories. Everyone that we have lost is in a better place now and they all lived very long, fullfilling lives. They are our new angels.
